Nigerian Navy Secondary School Abeokuta is a boys only secondary school established on 2 February 1991 as the second Nigerian Navy secondary school. The school is located at the site of the defunt St. Leo’s Teacher Training College in Ibara, Abeokuta. Success of the Ojo Navy school and subsequent upsurge in student population had necessitated the creation of another school of the Ojo, Lagos type. The school is run by a management committee set up in line with the policies of the Directorate of Naval Education with headquarters in Moloney Street, Lagos. A student of the school represented Nigeria in the July 2013 International Informatics Olympia competition in Australia.
The Navy school at Abeokuta endeavors to include military traditions in school life, but remains essentially a civilian school. Many grandaunts of the school start a military career.
