Labisi

Labisi was the Alaafin of Oyo after Ojigi, the indulgent father who died with his son, and immediate predecessor of Amuniwaiye, the king disgraced because of his affairs with his medicine man’s wife.

The prince of Oyo who was to assume the seat of Alaafin when the notorious Basorun Gaha rose to power. Gaha at this time commenced the atrocities for which he attained the worst ignominy among history makers in Oyo empire. Labisi’s potential supporters were silenced, and he, having seen the handwriting on the wall, decided to put an end to his life.
